Duda Melzer Pushes The RBS Group To New Areas Of Success

The Brazilian media company, the RBS Group, has been a shining example of how a family operated business should run after the company was formed by Mauricio Sobrinho Sirotsky in the 1950s. Over the course of the life of the RBS Group the company has become a respected supplier of both news and entertainment under the leadership of the founder and later by his son, Nelson Sirotsky; in 2004, Eduardo Sirotsky Melzer, better known as Duda returned to the family business and was named as the planned successor to the role of CEO and President of the company.

Since the announcement of Duda Melzer as the planned successor to the role of President of the RBS Group, he has spent a large amount of time looking to prepare both himself and his company for the transition to take place smoothly. Duda Melzer has proven himself to be a success in a number of areas of life, including his role as the Chair of the eBricks group he founded to handle new technology investments for the group outside of the media industry, which has seen the group invest more than $100 million in small and medium-sized new media and technology based startups. Over the last few years, the success achieved by Duda Melzer has been recognized by a number of impressive groups who have awarded him some of the top honors available to a business leader. Perhaps the award that has been closest to the heart of Duda Melzer is his naming to the list of leaders of the Cambridge Institute for Family Enterprise, a global list of just 25 business leaders created each year to show off the success achieved by individuals in working within a family based business framework.
